About the Artist

Roman Sabasch is 21 young years young and happily residing and studying at the University of Saskatchewan. Romans primary mediums are acrylic painting and sculpture using many different mediums. Roman likes to explore themes of childhood nostalgia, gender and sexuality. Roman is a very proud transgender man, and often uses his art to explore his own perceptions of gender and sexuality. Roman loved dolls, he loves to collect them and include them in his work, both as imagery and actual artistic media. Roman is very inspired by the aesthetics of his childhood in the early 2000’s. Roman hopes to create art that causes people to stop in their tracks and go “huh”. Roman hopes he can inspire other to explore their own gender and sexualities, as well as embrace the creative inspiration that can come form ones inner child.
